MasonrySaver Water Repellent for Split-Face Block is a one component, V.O.C. compliant water repellent sealer for use on all vertical block surfaces, but specifically lightweight, split-face and fluted block. It is a silane/siloxane blend with acrylic elastomers that penetrate small pores and capillaries and reduces the size of larger ones.

The unique resin blend is UV stable and allows for penetration up to 3/4 of an inch or more depending on porosity of the concrete masonry unit (CMU). This creates a deep, long-lasting hydrophobic zone within the subsurface while producing only a minimal glossy look. The acrylic elastomers seal larger pores and capillaries while the hydrophobic (silane/siloxane) ingredients change the contact angle of the block pores from negative (suction) to positive (repellent). This causes water to shed, and significantly reduces water penetration into a wall system.

MasonrySaver Water Repellent for Split-Face Block is recommended for use on all porous, vertical, above grade concrete masonry units including smooth, split-faced, burnished fluted or ribbed, and concrete brick. Natural substrate color and surface textures are only minimally affected, adding only a slight sheen and darkening.
It can be used on denser clay brick where some gloss and sheen are desirable. Testing is recommended before treating any surface to ensure desired results.

MasonrySaver Split Face Block Water Repellent can be painted over with most quality oil base paints that are recommended for exterior masonry surfaces.
